Yung Husain began his musical journey freestyling in High School as just a hobby, influenced by Lil' Keke, E.S.G., Z-Ro and other famous rappers from his home state, he soon developed a reputation as one of the best up-and-coming local hip-hop artists from the state of Texas both at school, and in his Missouri City Texas Neighborhood. Whether he was writing verses for a song, battling another MC or freestyling to impress his classmates, no topic was off limits in Yung Husain’s music; from his achievements, disappointments, major turning points, and setbacks, Yung Husain wrote, recorded and freestyled about everything.
What began as just a hobby soon turned into a full-fledged obsession as Yung Husain decided to take his talents to the next level. He jumped at every opportunity to get on stage and try out new material in front of a live audience, slowly building a name for himself performing at talent shows, car shows, and nightclubs in and around the Houston area; both as a solo artist and as a member of the group M-Squad; a crew of young talented rappers he knew from his Mo City neighborhood.
When he was approached by Speekeezy Entertainment to record his first mixtape, he knew this was the big break he had been waiting for. Like any young rapper eager to increase his fan base by showcasing his talents to the world, this was his chance to step into the spotlight and prove his skills not only as a writer and freestyle artist but also as one of the top 10 local rappers from Texas set to go mainstream.
He spent hours hanging around the studio scribbling in his notepad, carefully crafting his verses and waiting for his chance to step into the recording booth. With instrumentals from some of the hottest producers in the recording industry, the tracks for Yung Husain’s debut mixtape, appropriately titled Last Man Standing began to take shape.
Last Man Standing which included the tracks From Da Stone, Texas Takeover and Door Slamin was followed up with the release of M-Squad’s Texas Most Wanted - Vol 1 & 2 mix-tape series which was followed up with the release of the singles; Where They Dew That At, Sex in the Rain, Up From The Bottom and Lone Star State Of Mind, a song dedicated to the Screwston Texas Slab Culture and the Chopped and Screwed movement of the City of Syrup.
It’s hard to say what separates Yung Husain from the thousands of other aspiring rappers that pop up year after year, but anyone who listens to his music or has followed his career can easily tell that this is not just another rapper. He has experienced success and a recording artist, a social media celebrity (Cowboy Gump) the Cowboy hat wearing country rapper from Texas and wheeler Walker jr impersonator.
Yung Husain’s latest project a mixtape titled “Clutch” scheduled for release later this year includes features from M-Squad (Young Pimp Fe, D-Moe aka L.A.R.N KingUno), Infamous Bentley and a special guest appearances from and Big Shasta of the legendary Screwed Up Click.
